Odisha Assembly / How Much Property Lord Jagannath Holds? Reveals Odisha Minister

Bhubaneswar, Dec 6: The Odisha government has confirmed that Jagannath’s land holdings extend beyond the state, with properties identified in six states.
According to official records, 395.252 acres of land belonging to the Jagannath Temple have been located outside Odisha, informed the Law Minister.
In response to a question raised by legislator Sudarshan Haripal in the Assembly, the Law Minister stated that the temple owns 60,426.943 acres of land spread across 24 districts in the state. Of this, 38,061.792 acres of land have updated title deeds available with the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration office, the Minister added.

✨Authorities have also identified temple lands that have been
illegally encroached upon, he said.

In seven districts of Odisha, 169, 861.67 acres of land are under encroachment by various individuals. To address this, 974 cases of illegal encroachment have been filed under the Shree Jagannath Temple Act for eviction proceedings.
The minister assured that steps are being taken to safeguard temple property and recover encroached lands.
