Sambalpur, Sep 17: Union Education Minister and Sambalpur MP Dharmendra Pradhan on Wednesday spearheaded a series of community welfare initiatives under the ‘Seva Paksha’ campaign to observe Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday. The day-long activities reflected a blend of environmental commitment, healthcare outreach, and patriotic tribute.
Green Drive at Sainik School
The celebrations began with a large-scale plantation drive at Sainik School, Sambalpur. Students, teachers, and local volunteers joined hands to plant saplings as part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign. Pradhan emphasized the symbolic value of trees, calling each one “a gesture of love and respect for Mother Earth.”

Later in the day, Pradhan inaugurated a blood donation camp organized by BJP Yuva Morcha, praising youth volunteers for their life-saving contributions. He also launched the ‘Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan’ at Debeipali group health centre, where Ayushman Bharat cards were distributed and TB patients received nutrition kits. “Service is supreme,” he said.
Tribute to Soldiers and Welfare Outreach
At Sainik School, Pradhan paid homage to fallen soldiers, reinforcing the spirit of national service. He also participated in the ‘Garib Kalyan Sammelan’, where welfare benefits were extended to local beneficiaries under various central schemes.
