Nuapada, Oct 6: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday visited Nuapada district and launched 957 developmental projects worth Rs1,100 crore, aimed at boosting infrastructure, irrigation, and administrative services in the district.
The announcement comes ahead of the upcoming by-election, necessitated by the demise of sitting BJD MLA Rajendra Dholakia.
Municipality and NAC Status Granted
During his visit, CM Majhi declared Khariar Road as a Municipality and elevated Komana and Sinapali to Notified Area Councils (NACs), marking a significant step in urban development for the region.
Irrigation Gets Top Priority
Of the total package, Rs802 crore has been earmarked exclusively for irrigation projects, addressing long-standing demands of farmers. The Chief Minister emphasized that this allocation honors the aspirations of hardworking cultivators in the region.

✨Infrastructure and Administrative Boost
The CM inaugurated 109 completed projects worth Rs64 crore and laid foundation stones for 39 new ones totaling Rs159 crore. Additionally, sub-registration offices were launched in Sinapali, Komana, and Boden tehsils to enhance administrative accessibility.

Commitment to Regional Equity
CM Majhi also reaffirmed his commitment to Nuapada’s development, stating that despite its distance from the state capital, the district will receive equal attention. He promised personal oversight and frequent visits to ensure progress, highlighting the role of the “double engine government” in driving transformation.
The Chief Minister recalled his earlier visit during the Maraguda Mahotsav in April, where he had announced Rs320 crore worth of projects. He assured residents that his government remains dedicated to serving every corner of Odisha with equal vigor.
