Bhubaneswar, Sep 7: The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, marked its 43rd Foundation Day with a vibrant ceremony at its headquarters in Bhubaneswar.
The event was graced by School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond, who inspired students and educators with a forward-looking message rooted in the National Education Policy (NEP).
Addressing the gathering, Minister Gond emphasized the importance of vocational education and digital learning in shaping a self-reliant youth. He urged students to harness their inner potential, drawing inspiration from Swami Vivekananda’s ideals. “Education is the foundation of a prosperous India,” he said, calling for collective efforts to empower the next generation.
The Minister also announced the integration of two examination boards into a unified system, promising streamlined processes and better outcomes for students. Under the NEP framework, environmental balance and safety have been made mandatory subjects this academic year, along with the inclusion of seven vocational disciplines in the curriculum.

CHSE Chairman Mrunal Kanti Das highlighted the Council’s consistent efforts over four decades in conducting examinations with integrity and precision. He reiterated the Council’s commitment to adapting to modern educational needs while preserving academic excellence.
As part of the celebration, students who excelled in various competitions were felicitated. The event also featured the release of the annual NSS report ‘Pragyan’ and a cultural performance by Council staff.
The ceremony was attended by dignitaries including
Subhashree Nanda, Additional Secretary of the School and Mass Education
Department, and Srikant Tarai, President of the Board of Secondary Education.
The event concluded with a renewed pledge to elevate Odisha’s education system
through innovation and inclusivity.
