Patna, Nov 19: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader
and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Wednesday congratulated
Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha for being elected as leader and deputy
leader of the BJP legislature party in the Bihar Assembly.

In a post on X, Pradhan, BJP’s election in-charge for Bihar
polls, congratulated both leaders and emphasized that under the guidance of
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP legislative party will further strengthen
a culture of service, good governance, development, and transparency in Bihar.
The BJP leader expressed confidence that Choudhary and Sinha’s experience and commitment
will be pivotal in realizing NDA’s vision of a developed Bihar.
Samrat Choudhary, known for his organizational skills and
grassroots connection, has been entrusted with the responsibility of steering
the legislative party. Vijay Kumar Sinha, a seasoned politician and former
Speaker of the Bihar Assembly, will assist him in strengthening the party’s
legislative agenda.

Pradhan reiterated that public service and a developed Bihar
are the sole commitments of BJP-NDA. The statement reflects the alliance’s
focus on welfare-driven governance and its promise to deliver
development-oriented policies.

Notably, the NDA secured a thumping majority in the Bihar
Assembly elections, winning 202 out of 243 seats. The BJP emerged as the
largest party with 89 seats, followed by Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United)
with 85. Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) won 19 seats, Jitan
Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) secured five, and Upendra
Kushwaha’s Rashtriya Lok Morcha bagged four.
On the other hand, the RJD-led Mahagathbandhan managed only
35 seats. The RJD won 25, Congress six, CPI(ML) Liberation two, while CPI(M)
and the Indian Inclusive Party secured one each. Outside the alliance, AIMIM
gained five seats and BSP won one, underscoring the fragmented opposition in
Bihar.
