New Delhi, Oct 17: President Droupadi Murmu addressed the national conclave on the ‘Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan’ in New Delhi on Friday, emphasizing the government’s commitment to inclusive governance and tribal empowerment for a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India).


The event also saw the presentation of awards to top-performing states, districts, blocks, and Integrated Tribal Development Agencies.

 

Vision for Self-Reliant Tribal Villages

In her keynote address, President Murmu described the conclave as a reflection of India’s resolve to make governance participatory and inclusive. She highlighted the transformative vision behind the Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan, which aims to make every tribal village self-reliant and proud. The campaign seeks to ensure that tribal communities actively contribute to and benefit from the nation’s development journey.

The President praised the initiative for empowering Gram Sabhas and community-led institutions, stating that tribal participation can influence national policy and enhance the effectiveness of government schemes. She emphasized that tribal traditions teach us to pursue development in harmony with nature.

 

Infrastructure, Education, and Livelihood Boost

President Murmu outlined the government’s efforts to uplift tribal communities, including expanded infrastructure, residential schools, scholarships, and skill development programs. She noted that these initiatives have boosted traditional crafts and entrepreneurship, enhancing self-confidence and self-reliance among tribal youth.

 

Inclusive Development for a Developed India

The President said that in our journey towards a developed India, we must remember that real progress of the nation and society lies in the development of all sections of society. She added that we should build an inclusive society where all citizens participate meaningfully and are capable of shaping their own destiny.
