Bhubaneswar, Nov 10: In a massive breakthrough, Jammu and Kashmir Police have uncovered a large-scale terror plot involving explosives and weapons.

Acting on intelligence gathered during the interrogation of Dr. Adil Ahmad, a resident of Anantnag, police raided a rented house in Faridabad, Haryana, and seized 350 kilograms of RDX, an AK-47 rifle, and a large cache of ammunition.

Adil was arrested earlier in Srinagar after an AK-47 rifle was recovered from his locker on Saturday. Security agencies suspected his links with the banned terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed. During questioning, Adil reportedly made several shocking revelations, leading to the discovery of the explosives.

Faridabad Police Commissioner Satender Kumar Gupta said the explosives were accompanied by 20 timers and four battery timers. In addition, an assault rifle, 83 live rounds, a pistol, two magazines, and several other weapons were recovered during the operation.

Authorities believe the seized RDX was intended for a major terror attack. Investigations have revealed that Adil had long-standing ties with Pakistan-based terrorist organizations and had been actively assisting their operations.

The network appears to span multiple states, and officials anticipate more arrests in the coming days. Security agencies are now probing how such a large quantity of RDX reached Faridabad and what the intended targets were.

Police and intelligence units are working together to dismantle the network and prevent any future attacks.

Who is Adil Ahmad?

As per reports, Adil Ahmad, a Kashmiri physician residing in South Kashmir's Qazigund, was detained for allegedly hanging posters endorsing the terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed in Srinagar. He was a senior resident at Government Medical College (GMC) in Anantnag until October 2024.

Jaish-e-Mohammed posters were first spotted in Srinagar on October 27, prompting an investigation. CCTV footage later revealed Adil Ahmad placing the posters. Acting on this evidence, police apprehended him nine days later, on November 6, from a hospital located on Ambala Road in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

A raid was conducted in GMC Anantnag, and police discovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition in Adil's locker. As per reports, Adil allegedly kept the items with another physician, Muzammil Shakeel, who was also taken into custody.

Muzammil, a Pulwama native and doctor at Al-Falah Hospital in Faridabad, is suspected to be part of a terror network — indicating a shift toward recruiting educated professionals.
