  • Five students in Gajapati district denied CBSE matric exam due to missing admit cards.
  • School authorities blamed Aadhaar card errors, sparking outrage among parents.
  • District Education Officer has been urged to intervene.

Gajapati, Feb 17: The CBSE matriculation exams commenced Tuesday across the country. However, five students — four boys and a girl — failed to appear for the examinations, allegedly due to the negligence by their school authorities. The shocking incident was reported from Kashinagar in Gajapati district.

Enrolled at Smart Public School in Kashinagar, the affected students had duly filled out their examination forms earlier this year. Shockingly, they didn’t get their admit cards even though the exams commenced Tuesday. When they arrived at their exam centre, they were barred from sitting for the exam. The events left the students as well as their parents devastated and confused.

Parents approached the school authorities for a clarification. However, they were disappointed after what the authorities responded. The school reportedly cited errors in Aadhaar details as the reason behind the failure to generate admit cards.

Dissatisfied with this explanation, one of the students, Ajay, along with his mother Jyoti, lodged a formal complaint at the district administration office. Their grievance brought the matter into public focus.

According to our source, the school had assured the students until the previous evening that admit cards would be provided. However, later that night, they informed the families that the cards would not be issued. This last-minute revelation left the students helpless, as missing the exam means losing an entire academic year.

The parents have demanded strict action against the school authorities, holding them accountable for jeopardizing the future of their children. They have also urged the administration to intervene and ensure that the students are given a chance to appear for the exams.
