Berhampur, Nov 29: Panic gripped commuters on the National Highway near the outskirts of Berhampur when a cargo-laden truck suddenly burst into flames on Saturday afternoon.

According to reports, the incident occurred when the vehicle, carrying goods, caught fire while moving along the busy stretch of road, forcing motorists to halt abruptly and causing temporary traffic disruption.

Thick smoke billowed from the truck, raising alarm among passersby.

Local police rushed to the spot and immediately cordoned off the area to prevent further mishaps.

Fire department was immediately alerted, who then reached the spot and brought the fire under control.

Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far.
