Odisha received Rs 3 lakh crore between 2004 and 2014, while the fund allocation made to the State during the last nine years of the Narendra Modi government catapulted to Rs 18 lakh crore. Unlike the previous government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has released grants and assistance in a free hand to Odisha.
While Odisha's development largely depends on the mining revenue, the State is annually accumulating mining revenue of Rs 50,000 crore, up from Rs 5,000 crore it received annually before Narendra Modi's government came to power.
At a meeting in Sundargarh, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said the mining revenue increased from Rs 5,000 crore to Rs 50,000 crore due to the rightful policies of the Modi Government.
During the Modi Government's last nine years, Odisha has remained to be a priority State in the matters of fund allocation.
Besides other sectors, the Modi government created DMF for tribal-dominated mining districts. Sundargarh DMF is annually receiving Rs 1,000 to 1,200 crore for for development of tribals. The Narendra Modi government has created a Tribal Welfare Department for the development of tribals. Despite this, development has not occurred in tribal pockets in Odisha, why, asked Pradhan.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan claimed that the Modi government has provided over 32 lakh crore houses under Awas Yojana and constructed over 77 lakh toilets in Odisha. Over 60 lakh gas connections have been connected to poor families under the Ujjwala Scheme in Odisha.
Speaking on the Modi government's success in telecommunication, Pradhan said the mobile network has reached the nook and corner of the State. He expressed happiness saying that tribal youths of unreachable pockets are now using mobile phones and knowing about the world. "All these have been possible due to the efforts of the Modi Government," said Pradhan.
The Union Minister, who was given a grand reception amid a huge bike rally and traditional tribal dances, expressed confidence that Bharat will be a developed county by 2047 under the able leadeship of Narendra Modi.
