State BJP president Manmohan Samal, former president Nayan Mohanty and other senior leaders welcomed Bandita and other leaders to the party with party.
The woman Corporator blamed the BJD for not working for the welfare of the people of her ward. He targeted local MLA Ananta Jena for not supporting her in doing welfare work in the ward.
"The BJP government is meant for four-and-half-a-crore people of Odisha. I hope the party will take up the people's welfare programme in my ward," said Pal after joining the BJP.
She said she had been associated with the BJD with the sole objective of working for the people. However, the party didn't support her.
"Higher-level people's representatives of the BJD don't care for leaders elected at the ward level. The party is now hindering people-centric work," she alleged.
