The deceased has been identifed as Chittaranjan Rout. Rout was a formed BJD Sarpanch as well as a president of Samabaya Seva Samiti, Ambaroli in Bhadrak district.
As per the report, Rout had went to 'Asta Prahari' Tuesday night, but he didn't return home. Locals found his body from a drain under mysterious circumstances.
Locals informed the police after finding his body. The Rural police arrived at the scene and recovered the body.
Police is suspecting it as a murder as Rout's body had deep injury marks and blood all over it. Police have began investigation. More details are awaited.
