Subarnapur, Nov 23: In a major achievement, the Ulunda police in Subarnapur district seized a huge quantity of ganja (cannabis) and arrested and court-forwarded five persons for smuggling the contraband yesterday.
The police made the seizures and arrests during night patrolling at Jharabahali chhak.
According to the information, five youths holding bags were waiting to board a bus. At this time, the Ulunda police were patrolling. The police checked their bags and seized ganja weighing 32 kg.
The arrested youths have been identified as Bal Krishna, Ram Bilas Shikari, Mahendra Shikari, Abhijit Malia, and Raghunath Malia of Matiari village under Bilaspur district in Chhattisgarh. They were later forwarded to court, said the police.
