The mail reportedly includes an audio message from Pannun threatening to disrupt the ongoing All India DG-IG conference in Bhubaneswar. He also reportedly targetted the Biju Patnaik International Airport, saying "whoever waves a Khalistani flag at the airport will get Rs 25 lakh."
Notably, the conference, which began November 29 (Friday), is underway at the Lok Seva Bhavan here in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well as Home Minister Amit Shah and Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
Earlier, a day ahead of the three-day conference, the Khalistani separatist issued a video message threatening to disrupt the conference.
"DGP terror conference where, under the influence of violent Hindutva ideology, they plan and orchestrate killings of pro-Khalistan Sikhs, Kashmiri fighters, Naxals, and Maoists. Axis of evil Modi-Shah-Doval are bringing the biggest security threat to Bhubaneswar," Pannun, who heads the Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) outfit, said in the video.
Pannun also urged his supporters to “disguise and take cover in temples-hotels in Bhubaneswar to disrupt the DG-IG conference.”
Reacting the threat, Additional Director General (Law & Order) Sanjay Kumar said that around 80 platoons (1 platoon consists of 30 personnel) of Odisha Police, along with 10 companies of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), including CRPF and BSF personnel, have been deployed at key locations.
