Bengaluru, April 22: Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa was on Thursday discharged from a hospital after undergoing treatment for Covid-19 infection.
According to the Chief Minister's office, the 78-year old leader was admitted to the Manipal Hospital on April 16 after testing Covid positive for the second time in eight months.
Yediyurappa was earlier hospitalised on August 2, 2020 after he tested positive for coronavirus, and was discharged on recovery after nine days.
He tweeted: "Upon having mild fever, I got tested for Covid-19 and my report has come out positive. Although I am doing fine but admitted to a hospital based on the doctors' advice. I request all those who have come in my contact recently to be observant and exercise self-quarantine."
After cutting short his campaign to three seats ahead of bypolls in Karnataka, the Chief Minister had returned to Bengaluru on April 15 after he complained of fatigue and fever.
Returning from Belagavi, he had gone to Ramaiah hospital for general checkup, where he had tested Covid positive and later shifted to the Manipal hospital.
Yediyurappa had got himself inoculated with the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine on March 12.
Meanwhile, after getting discharged from hospital, the Chief Minister said that he would be meeting his cabinet colleagues on Thursday evening to discuss strategies to contain the Covid spread across the state.

Bhubaneswar, Dec 9: Union Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is coming to Sambalpur today.
The Union Minister is scheduled to attend various programs in Sambalpur district.
According to sources, Pradhan will grace the Bharat Sankalpa Yatra to be held in Maneshwar block in the district. He will grace as chief guest at the Vedic School in the afternoon.
The Minister will also participate in the Srimad Katha Bhagawat program.

Modi's wishes come at a time when the Congress just lost three Hindi heartland states in the recently concluded Assembly polls, and the crucial Lok Sabha elections are just six months away.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge also took to 'X' to extend his wishes to the former party president. Kharge described her as a "relentless advocate of the rights of the marginalised."
"Greetings to Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson, Smt. Sonia Gandhi ji on her birthday. A relentless advocate of the rights of the marginalised, she has been a symbol of utmost grace while battling adversity with courage, grit and selfless sacrifice. On her political journey, the Congress leader said, "Her life journey is an inspiration for us all. She steered the Congress through an extremely challenging period with great poise and was the architect of the UPA government that delivered welfare for all and exponential growth for the country."
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin wished the veteran Congress leader as well.
"Birthday greetings to Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Madam Sonia Gandhi, an exemplar of devoted public life. Wishing her a long life filled with good health," Stalin said.
On Sonia's contribution to strengthening the opposition alliance, the Chief Minister said, "May her profound vision and wealth of experience continue to be a guiding light in our united endeavour to save #INDIA from autocratic forces."
Sonia was last seen at the swearing-in ceremony of Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the only state the Congress bagged in the recent assembly elections. She had also called a Congress Parliamentary Strategy Group meeting on Monday evening to chalk out the strategy for the winter session of Parliament.

New Delhi, Dec 9: A total of 13 people were arrested in the ISIS terror conspiracy case from Maharashtra's Pune on Saturday following searches by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) at 44 locations in Karnataka and Maharashtra.
The anti-terror agency sleuths raided these locations in close coordination with the police forces of Maharashtra and Karnataka, sources said.
Of the 44 locations being raided since this morning, the agency sleuths searched one place in Karnataka, two in Pune, 31 in Thane Rural, nine in Thane city, and one in Bhayander, they said.
The case pertains to a criminal conspiracy hatched by accused persons and their associates who had pledged to the violent extremist ideology of proscribed terrorist organizations, including Al-Qaeda and ISIS, and had formed a terrorist gang.
The terrorist organizations had recruited like-minded youth into their fold besides conducting religious classes to wage violent jihad to establish Islamic rule in India.
