New Delhi, Sep 27: The government has compulsorily retired an IAS officer, currently serving in Arunachal Pradesh and accused of emptying a stadium here last year to walk her dogs, sources said.
A government source confirmed the development, saying that "yes the orders have been passed".
The sources said that 1994 batch IAS officer Rinku Dugga of the AGMUT cadre has been compulsorily retired following her track record.
Dugga along with her husband Sanjeev Khirwar, who is also a 1994-batch IAS officer were transferred out of Delhi last year following a news report that they emptied a stadium of athletes to walk their dog.
Khirwar is currently posted in Ladakh.
The source said that she has been retired compulsorily under the Fundamental Rules (FR) 56(j), Rule 48 of Central Civil Services (CCS) Pension Rules, 1972 after an assessment of her service record.
The source further said that the government has the right to retire any government servant "if it is of the opinion that it is in the public interest to do so". (IANS)

Nabarangpur, Sept 27: A teacher was killed and more than 20 students sustained injuries as a school bus in which they were travelling in overturned on Chandahandi ghat road in Odisha's Nabarangpur district on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Prabhas Jena. He was serving as the Physical Education Teacher (PET) of Saraswati Bidya Mandir in Umerkote.
As per reports, the teachers and students of various schools in Umerkote on board the bus were heading to Chandahandi to participate in a district level sports competition.
The driver of the bus reportedly lost control of the bus on the ghat road following which the vehicle overturned.
The teacher reportedly died on the spot.
After getting information, Jharigam Police and Fire Services personnel reached the spot and rescued the injured students.
The injured were rushed to the Community Health Centre, Jharigam for their treatment.
Jharigam Police started an investigation into the incident.

Bhubaneswar, Sept 27: Former Kalahandi MP Arka Keshari Deo joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here in Odisha on Wednesday.
Arka along with his wife Malvika Devi and their supporters joined the saffron party during the ‘Misrana Parba’ held at the party's State headquarters office in the city.
BJP state president Manmohan Samal, Kalahandi MP Basant Panda and a host of senior party leaders were present at the ‘Misrana Parba’ in the State Capital.
Arka had joined Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in 2013 after the demise of his father Bikram Keshari Deo, a former BJP MP from Kalahandi. He was elected to the 16th Lok Sabha from Kalahandi constituency in 2014 on a BJD ticket.
However, the BJD had fielded former Odisha Minister Pushpendra Singhdeo in 2019 Lok Sabha polls in which BJP candidate Basant Panda was elected from the constituency.
Arka had resigned from BJD in 2019.
