Notably, the carcass of the leopard was found in the jungle two days back.
It is alleged that poachers killed the leopard by laying electric wire and took away the animal’s claws, nails and moustache.
The Forest Department has registered a case and conducting investigation.
Expressing anguish over poaching, locals alleged involvement of forest officials and demanded that real culprits be brought to fore and all measures be taken by the Government for protection of wild animals in the region.
