Former India skipper MS Dhoni will join the national team as mentor for the T20 World Cup. He will work with India team head coach Ravi Shastri and coaching staff, said BCCI secretary Jay Shah.
Virat Kohli has been named as the Captain of the team while Rohit Sharma will be his deputy, he added.
The big announcement of the day was the inclusion of Ravichandran Ashwin in the 15-member squad. Ashwin hasn't played in a T20 international match since 2017.
The World Cup will be held from October 17 to November 14. India will open their campaign against Pakistan from October 24.
