Taking to Twitter the Union Education Minister said: "Development of railway infrastructure in Odisha is being given top priority in the Mission Purvodaya. Under the Modi government, Odisha has received more money than the demand in the railway sector. This allocation will accelerate the railway project and strengthen the railway infrastructure in the State.”
Rs 2,564 crore for 37 new railway line projects Rs 3,800 crore for the modernization of 4,643 km railway line will facilitate rail connectivity and strengthen tourism infrastructure and economy, he added.
In the financial year 2023-24, the grant of Rs 1,599 crore for the much-awaited Khordha Road-Balangir railway line project will speed up the work.
The Union Minister tweeted that the people of the State will get special benefits from the innovative plan to identify 28 stations in Odisha for the new national glory corridor, energy corridor, railway infrastructure for new port connectivity, and one station- one product.
