Pujari, who is suffering from multiple old age related ailments, high blood pressure and kidney disease was rushed to SLN Hospital from her native village Patraput yesterday. He was bedridden at home earlier.
A successful and revered farmer, Pujari is currently being nasal fed after not being able to eat on her own due to the seriousness of the sickness. That apart, the pain from the injury sustained during an accident earlier has returned to make her condition even worse.
Worth mentioning, Pujari had been honored with Padma Shri on March 16, 2019 by President of India Ram Nath Kovind for preserving hundreds of local varieties of paddy seeds and for promoting organic farming. She is also a crusader against the use of chemical fertilizers in farming.
