The deceased has been identified as Monali Moharana. Her elder sister as Rashmita Moharona, who works in a private company in Kolkata. Both are the daughters of Durgacharan Moharana. And the accused identified as Mamata Ojha, Jiban Ojha.
According to the information, Durgacharan had two daughters from his first wife. After the demise of his first wife, in 2020, Durgacharan got married for the second time.
After their father’s second marriage, both the daughters were tortured by their step mother. Monali fell more victim to their step mother’s torture as Rashmita went out of the station for her job.
On January 7, Jiban and Mamata allegedly killed her and burned her body in the crematorium ground to destroy evidence.
After having knowledge about the incident, the villagers informed Rashmita over phone.
Soon, she reached the village and started searching for Monali. Later she went to the crematorium ground and found some wet ashes which were washed recently.
Rashmita lodged a written complaint in Gop police station. As per the written complaint the police initiated an investigation and reached the crematorium ground. The police seized some ashes and body remnants from the spot.
According to reports, Mamata, Jiban and Durgacharan are absconding. In the meantime a scientific team have reached the spot and initiated a further probe into the matter.
