“Devotees are now being allowed entry to the Shree Jagannath Temple without Covid 19 negative certificates. While they have a spiritual passion to have Mahaprasad at Anand Bazaar after having Darshan of the lords, the food facility is still shut. The Anand Bazaar should be opened in the interest of devotees at the earliest,” said advocates.
The lawyers also demanded reopening of the Shree Gundicha Mandir, which had remained closed in view of the Covid pandemic for the last 10 months, for the devotees at the earliest.
A team of lawyers submitted a memorandum to the district Collection in favour of their demands.
It may be noted that Mahaprasad, cooked rice and veg curry items which are offered to Lord Jagannath, is sold for devotees at Anand Bazaar inside the Shreemandir campus.
Shree Gundicha Mandir is about 3 km away from the Shreemandir. This is the temple to where Lord Jagannath along with His siblings Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra make nine-day sojourn, called Rath Yatra, every year.
