In a series of tweets in Odia, Pradhan said, “I am saddened over the death of Mihir Das, a well-known actor in the Odisha Cine world. My relationship with him was not like that of an artist, but of an elder brother. I can't believe that he is not among us.”
“He had made a special place in the hearts of millions of Odia audiences by performing excellently in versatile roles. His death marked the end of a golden era in Odia film industry,” the Union Minister tweeted.
“May the departed soul rest in peace; May Lord Shree Jagannath give immense patience and courage to the bereaved family,” he added.

Veteran Odia actor Mihir Das died at a private hospital in Cuttack this afternoon. He was 55.
Das was undergoing treatment for kidney-related ailments since December 7. He was put on ventilator support two days later after his condition became critical. However, the versatile actor breathed his last this afternoon.
He is survived by his wife Sangita Das and son, Amlan Das, who is also an actor in the Odia film industry.
A pal of gloom has descended in the State following the demise of the veteran actor.
