Veteran Odia actor Mihir Das passed away while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Cuttack. He was 55.
The Governor took twitter to express grief over the death of the versatile actor and condolences to the bereaved family.
“Hon'ble Governor is deeply saddened to learn about the demise of renowned Odia film actor Mihir Das. He conveyed his sympathy to bereaved family,” his twitter reads.

“The Governor also state that Das Das will stay in the heart of one and all forever for his unique acting skill,” he added.
In a tweet, the Chief Minister also condoled the demise of Mihir Das and said that his death is an irreparable loss to the Odia film industry.
“I am saddened by the death of veteran actor Mihir Das. The impression he left behind in the Odia film industry will forever immortalize him. His demise is an irreparable loss to the Odia film industry,” Patnaik tweeted in Odia.
“I express my condolences to the bereaved families. May the departed soul rest in peace,” he added.

Das debuted in the Odia film industry with an art film ‘School Master’ and then in commercial (non-art) film ‘Mathura Bijay’ in 1979. He was last seen in ‘Eai ta Dunia’ in 2020.
A veteran actor for more than three decades, Das had received Best Actor award from the State Government for his performance in movies ‘Laxmi Protima’ in 1998 and ‘Pheria Mo Suna Bhauni’ in 2005.
