According to the schedule, the Rath pulling will begin at 3.30 pm today. Devotees will be allowed to witness the Rath Yatra this year. Devotees were not allowed to participate in the Rath Yatra for the last two years in view of prevalence of Covid pandemic.
Lord Lingaraj will move to His Aunt’s house located at Mausima Chhack, about two km from the Lingaranj Temple. According to information, only servitors will pull the Rath.
To ensure a smooth conduct of the grand Rath Yatra, the Commissionerate Police has rearranged traffic system and tightened the security system. The return sojourn of the lord will be held on April 13.
As per the advisory, no vehicles will be allowed on Rath Road from Mausimaa Chhak. They will be diverted either towards Museum Chhak or towards Vivekananda Marg. Similarly, no vehicles will be allowed on Rath Road from Bank Sahi lane, Maharana shai lane, Gosagareswar chhak, Sital Sasthi lane, Tinimundia chhak, Harchandi lane, Muna Medical lane and Punama gate lane or any other lane / by-lane emerging at Rath Road 3.
Besides, no vehicles from Rath Khala will be allowed on Rath Road, instead they will be diverted from Rath Khala towards Bata Mahadev Temple. People violating the advisory will be penalised, said the Commissionerate police.
