On the directive of BJP national president JP Nadda, national BJP Mahila Morcha chief Vanathi Srinivasan, Lok Sabha member from Haryana Sunita Duggal and West Bengal MLA Sreerupa Mitra Chaudhury will visit Balangir and Kalahandi to ascertain the facts on the Mamita murder case.
According to the party sources, the BJP team will land in Bhubaneswar this morning and soon proceed to Jharni, the village of Mamita in Balangir district and meet the family members of the deceased lady teacher.
Later, the saffron leaders will visit Mahaling village in Kalahandi district where she was brutally killed and buried by Gobinda Sahu, president of Sunshine English Medium School.
The BJP and Congress have been demanding the sacking of Minister of State for Home Dibya Shankar Mishra from the Council of Ministers for his alleged close links with Gobinda Sahu, the prime accused in the murder case of Mamita.
BJP has also been demanding CBI probe into the brutal murder of the 23-year-old lady teacher.
However, the ruling BJD has maintained that the opposition parties are trying to politicise the sensitive issue while the probe is on the right track.
Notably, Gobinda Sahu had confessed that he had killed Mamita Meher, teacher of Sunshine English Medium School, on October 8. He is currently lodged at Kantabanji Sub-jail in Balangir district.
