According to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the Chief Minister urged people and the administration to remain alert in the upcoming weeks considering the rise in number of Covid-19 cases in the State. He also urged people to strictly follow the Covid-19 protocols issued by the Government to stay safe during the period.
While expressing satisfaction in the vaccination programme in the State, the Chief Minister directed senior officials to intensify immunisation of people who haven't been vaccinated at all and who haven't received second dose against the virus. He also said that vaccination of senior citizens and frontline warriors is very important.
The Chief Minister asked the senior officials to include Mission Shakti groups or Women SHG groups in the awareness programme to fight against the deadly virus.
Patnaik directed the Police department to pay special attention to ensure strict enforcement of Covid-19 rules and regulations across the State. He also stressed on the need to strengthen the monitoring system, citing that most people infected with the current wave are in home isolation.
On Tuesday, Odisha recorded its highest single-day spike in Covid-19 cases in 2022 as 7,071 more people tested positive for the disease, taking the active case load in the State to 27,216.
