Lala has been presented before the SDJM at his official residence. In view of security, massive number of police has been deployed in Jajpur city.
As many as four cases have been registered against Lala Das.
Reacting to the arrest of Lala Das, Dharmasala MLA Himansu Sahoo said that it is a result of hooliganism. "Now, Odisha witnessed the result of hooliganism," said Sahoo.
"He who commits injustice or iniquity, must be punished," stated the BJP MLA, adding: "Now you can see what will happen if you go against the law."
He also slammed the Das brothers -- Pranab Prakash Das, aka Bobby Das, and Bhaba Prakash Das. "Bobby and his brother, Lala, have disturbed the peace in Jajpur," said Himanshu Sahoo.
"Now, peace will return to Jajpur. Works will be done for the dalits and the neglected," added the Dhrmasala MLA.
Earlier, Police had detained nine persons Thursday in connection with the assault on Sahoo. The Legislator was attacked at Budhapola under the Jajpur Sadar police station limits Wednesday evening.
Many of the arrested accused are associates of Bobby Das and his brother Lala. Some photos in the public domain substantiate the claim. Sahoo had demanded the arrest of Bobby Das claiming his involvement in the attack.
