Bhubaneswar, Sep 8: The number of daily Covid19 positive cases in Odisha continued to remain below 1,000 for about two weeks with 762 fresh cases being reported from 29 districts in the last 24 hours.
With this, the total positive cases of the State rose to 10,13,567, according to the Information and Public Relations Department.
The fresh cases included 102 children in the age group of 0-18 years.
The State had reported 638 cases yesterday and 609 cases the day before.
Of today’s fresh cases, 443 were detected from among quarantined people and the rest 319 as local contacts.
Among districts, Khordha reported highest number of 314 cases, followed by Cuttack 119, Mayurbhanj 29, Sundargarh 26, Jagatsinghpur 24, Kendrapada 21, Angul 20, Jajpur 19, Balasore 17, Puri 16, Bargarh 13, Bhadrak and Dhenkanal nine each, Keonjhar and Sambalpur seven each, Koraput and Rayagada six each, Ganjam and Jharsuguda four each, Nayagarh, Nuapada and Sonepur three each, Balangir and Nawarangpur two each and Deogarh, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Malkangiri reported one case each.
Besides, 74 positive cases were reported from the State Pool.
During the period, 801 infected persons recovered and total recoveries thus came to 9,98,591 against total positive cases of 10,13,567. Active cases stood at 6,853.
A total of 1,85,99,037 tests have been done to detect Covid positive cases so far.
