The held persons have been identified as Bhikari Khara and Gobind Pujari of Padua village and Shankar Rao Khuda of Athagada village of Koraput district.
Based on a tip-off that a ganja consignment was en-route to an unknown location in a Mahindra Bolero SUV last evening, a patrolling team of Koksara Police intercepted the same mid-way.
After the driver managed to give police a slip a frisk was conducted and 22 ganja packets were recovered from the SUV.
As three others who were boarding the vehicle failed to produce necessary documents required ganja transportation, the arrests were made.
Three mobiles and four ATM cards were also seized from the accused’s possession.
The held trio have been charged under various Sections of NDPS Act and efforts are underway to trace the absconding driver, said police.
