The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast rains and thunderstorm to occur in the next 24 hours in the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Gajapati, Ganjam and Kandhamal. Wind will also blow at 40 to 50 km per hour during the period. However, the State will get relief from the western wind from tomorrow.
The weatherman has issued yellow warning of light rains in the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Nuapada, Nabarangpur and Kalahandi. Temperature is likely to rise after 24 hours.

The State had witnessed heavy rains and hailstorm falling at many places yesterday. Very heavy rains had occurred in three cities, while eight other cities experienced heavy rains. Jeypore in Koraput district recorded highest rainfall of 148.8 millimetres.
