The excise sleuths have also arrested a man for possessing the spurious liquor and corks. The arrested accused has been identified as Vikash Kumar of Bihar. However, the main accused has been on the run.
According to information, a team of excise sleuths was patrolling at Khariar Road railway station when they saw a youth moving suspiciously. When interrogated, the youth said he came to supply liquor to some local traders there.
Based on his information, excise sleuths went to Samablpur and conducted raid on a house at Mudipada in the town. They seized 51,327 corks, 10,333 labels, 22,780 stickers and 15 litres of spurious liquor from the house.
The team said the illegal liquor trade was going on a rented house and the main accused was on the run. Arrested Vikash has many cases registered against his name at Balangir, Kalahandi, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Rayagada and other districts.
