Under the Ashirbad Yojana, the State Government will provide financial assistance to the children who have lost their father, mother or both due to Covid-19 on or after April 1, 2020.
An amount of Rs 2500 per month will be provided to the children who have lost both parents or single parent and Rs 1500 per month to those who have lost earning parent due to COVID-19, said the Chief Minister.
The amount will be transferred to the bank accounts of the guardians or caretakers of the orphans till they attain the age of 18 years. However, the financial assistance will not be extended in case the child is adopted by someone.
The orphans will be considered under the National/State Food Security provisions. They would also be helped for education at their respective areas.
Besides, the victim children will be included under Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana for availing free health services.
Mothers of such children, if eligible for Madhu Babu Pension Scheme, will also be provided the pension, the Chief Minister added.
