On Monday, hundreds of BJP workers, led by senior BJP leader and former Odisha Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, took out a rally from Panchamukhi Hanuman Temple to Sub-Divisional Police Office (SDPO) in Patnagarh town against alleged lawlessness in the constituency.
Later, the Saffron leader along with his supporters staged a sit-in protest in front of the SDPO, Patnagarh. They continued their sit-in protest throughout the night.
The protesters alleged that criminal activities are on rise in Patnagarh area, but the Police and the State government remain mute spectator.
“A Junior Engineer of Patnagarh block was brutally killed on May 20 last year. Likewise, armed miscreants looted ornaments worth crores from a jwellery shop in broad daylight on August 22 last year. However, not a single person was arrested in connection to either of the crimes till date,” said a BJP leader.
“If the Police fail to arrest the culprits involved in the crimes at the earliest, we will intensify our protest in the days ahead,” he threatened.
