According to sources, Sethy had demanded illegal gratification from a veterinary surgeon to release his arrear payments and for regularization of service.
The veterinary surgeon approached the Vigilance department and sought action against the accused clerk.
Subsequently, the anti-corruption agency laid a trap and caught Sethy red-handed when he was accepting the bribe amount.
The entire bribe money was recovered from the possession of Sethy and seized in presence of witnesses.
Balasore Vigilance registered a case under Section 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018, in this connection and an investigation is in progress against Sethy.
Simultaneous searches are being carried out at two locations linked to accused Sethy to unearth alleged disproportionate assets (DA) amassed by him, officials said.
