According to the IMD’s midday bulletin of today, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack and khordha during next 24 hours.
Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Angul, Kandhamal and Rayagada till 8.30 am of Friday, said the bulletin.
The IMD issued an orange alert for all the above mentioned districts for next 24 hours.
The Met Department also issued a yellow warning of thunderstorm with lightning over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Nawarangpur, Koraput and Malkangiri till tomorrow morning.
The weathermen also forecast that light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of north coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal and at many places over the rest districts of the State diring the period.
Maximum temperature is very likely to fall by 3-5 degree Celsius today and again it will rise tomorrow by 2-4 degree Celsius at many places over the districts of north Odisha and there will be no large change in maximum temperature thereafter in the State, the bulletin added.
