As per reprts, Lamptaput police intercepted a speeding truck near Badapada ghat during night patrolling late last night following which two smugglers stopped the vehicle and fled from the spot.
During the search, police seized 1036 kg of ganja worth around Rs 1 crore from the vehicle.
“The truck along with 1036 kg of ganja was seized for violation of the provisions of NDPS Act, 1985. Further investigation is on,” said a police official.
In similar incident, the Padua police arrested a person, and seized 249 kg of ganja worth around Rs 25 lakh and a mini truck from him.
The accused, identified was reportedly transporting the ganja to Andhra Pradesh.
Padua police registered a case under the provisions of NDPS Act, 1985 and started a probe in this connection.
