Temperature crossed 40 degree Celsius mark at five places of the State on Sunday, according to the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar.
While Titlagarh was the hottest at 41.4 degree Celsius, the temperature at Balangir town stood at 41, Angul at 40.1 and Baripada & Boudh each at 40 degree Celsius.
Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 37.6 degree Celsius and 37.2 degree respectively.
Meanwhile, the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre predicted light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada and dry weather likely to prevail over the rest districts of the State on Monday.
