As per reports, bulldozers tore down the structure of the famous hotel this morning, two days after the roadside eatery was sealed by the civic body.
On Wednesday, the BMC had reportedly sealed the hotel for violating food safety guidelines and not maintaining proper hygiene.
During a raid on Wednesday, the BMC officials allegedly found that the hotel was serving stale crabs and selling food using expired sauces and harmful colours.
It was also found that the owner was running a full-fledged hotel business and earning in lakhs while he had a license for vending street food like ‘gupchup’ and ‘dahi bara’ and was paying only Rs 100 tax towards it, official sources said adding that the hotel was sealed.
However, the hotel was found opening and doing its regular business yesterday. Moreover, the owner of the hotel told the media that he has not violated any food safety norms and no action was taken by the BMC in this coonection.
Today, the famous eatery was demolished in the presence of BMC officials.
