Mohali, Mar 3: India captain Rohit Sharma on Thursday affirmed that the team wants to make first Test against Sri Lanka a memorable one for senior batter Virat Kohli. On Friday, Kohli will become the 12th Indian and 71st Test cricketer to achieve the landmark of featuring in hundred Tests.

"It's been an absolutely brilliant journey for him. A long one since the time he made his debut and to now go and play his 100th game, it's been a long journey and a wonderful one. He's done exceedingly well in this particular format, changed so many things in the way team is moving forward and all of that."

"It's been brilliant to watch that and it's one hell of a ride for him and will continue to be in years to come. We definitely want to make it special one for him; we all are prepared for that. Let's hope we have a good five days of cricket," said Sharma in the pre-match virtual press conference.

India Conducts Successful Training Launch Of Short-Range Agni-1 Missile

Bhubaneswar, Dec 7:The Defence Ministry on Thursday said that a successful training launch of the short-range ballistic missile 'Agni-1' has been conducted, an official said.

The training launch was carried out from APJ Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha.

According to officials, the 'Agni-1' is a very high precision missile system.

The training launch was carried out under the aegis of the Strategic Forces Command, an official said, adding it successfully validated all operational and technical parameters.(IANS)

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Attends Roundtable Event Of Startup Conclave 2023

Gandhinagar, Dec 7: Union Minister for Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradhan attended the roundtable event of Startup Conclave 2023 yesterday in Gandhinagar, which is a pre-event of the Vibrant Gujarat 2024 Summit.

The Minister interacted with eminent venture capitalists, unicorns, investors, global accelerators, and industrialists at the event.

Addressing the event, Minister Pradhan said that India’s entrepreneurs have time and again demonstrated that the sky is not the limit and their ideas, imagination and innovation will pave the way for a more sustainable, prosperous and equal world.

Expressing his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Minister Pradhan said that the Prime Minister’s policies turned India into the 3rd largest start-up ecosystem.

The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, a biennial event was conceptualized in 2003 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, (then the Chief Minister of Gujarat).

Odisha: ED Files Charge Sheet Against 3 Wildlife Poachers For Trading Of Leopard Skin, Organs

Bhubaneswar, Dec 7: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday said that it has filed a charge sheet against three alleged wildlife poachers namely Satyaban Sahu, Mahit Bhue and Souki Thethua in connection with the alleged trading of leopard skin and organs.

The ED said that the agency filed the charge sheet under the provisions of Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002.

ED filed the charge sheet against Sahu, Bhue and Thethua of Baragarh district Odisha, in the Court of the Sessions Judge, Khurda at Bhubaneswar-cum-Special Court (PMLA) with prayer for conviction and punishment of the accused persons and also confiscation of proceeds of crime.

The court took cognizance of the charge sheet filed by ED in this case on December 4, the agency said.

The ED case is based on the FIR and charge sheet filed against the accused persons, by the Special Task Force, Crime Branch, Odisha under various sections of the IPC, 1860 and Wildlife Protection Act, 1972.

"ED investigation revealed that the accused persons were allegedly involved in trading of leopard skin and wildlife articles or organs or trophies since long and one leopard skin, 11 numbers of its nail and four number of its teeth valued at Rs 6.30 lakh was identified as proceeds of crime,' the agency added.
