All the major political parties have stepped up their election pitch with their heavyweight leaders to woo the voters.
Today, BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra and party’s national vice-president Baijayant Panda addressed an election campaign meeting at Bilaspur under Jharbandh block and sought votes for BJP candidate Pradip Purohit.
Later, Patra along with other party leaders extensively campaigned in the constituency seeking votes for the party candidate.
Similarly, BJD and Congress leaders also intensified their canvassing to woo the voters for the ensuing by-poll.
For BJD candidate Barsha Singh Bariha, several Odisha Ministers and MLAs campaigned, while OPCC president and several senior leaders of Congress party hit the campaign trail for their party candidate Satyabusan Sahu.
The voting for the Padampur by-poll will be held on December 5 and the counting of votes will take place on December 8.
The bypoll was necessitated following the death of BJD MLA Bijaya Ranjan Singh Bariha on October 3.
