The accused has been identified as Babindra Munda.
“On receipt of reliable information, a joint raid was conducted by the Forest Wing of Odisha Vigilance in house premises of Babindra Munda. During the raid, it was found that one Munda had killed a wild boar by way of “trap” for selling the meat of the said wild animal. Different parts like stomach, intestine and head person of the wild boar along with instruments like axe, trap set and weighing machine etc., were seized,” said Vigilance officials.
Munda was arrested and forwarded to the Court of JMFC, Sukinda, Jajpur. In this connection, one Forest Case has been registered vide OR No.132SK of 2022-23 in Sukinda Range under Cuttack Forest Division.
It may be noted that violation of Section 9 of Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972, which is punishable under Section 51 of the Act as wild pig or wild boar is a schedule wild animal of Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972.
