BJP MLA Suryabanshi Suraj made scathing attack on the State Government placing data at a Press meet held at party’ State head office here.
“Only 300 hospitals have been linked to Biju Swasthy Kalyaj Jona, whereas 729 hospitals per State are providing free treatment under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana,” said Suraj.

“While Government of India is spending an average of Rs 1,944 for head in health sector, Odisha’s amount stands at Rs 1,501 only. There are 139 hospital beds operating for every one lakh people in the country, where as the number in Odisha stands at 59,” rued Sujaj.
He too slammed the Odisha Government for a dismal number of doctors providing treatment in the State. There is a doctor for every 1456 people in the country but a doctor is appointed in Odisha to attend 1864 patients,” said Suraj.
