“BJP doesn’t take advantage of weaknesses of other parties. BJP has its own organisations at booth and ward levels. Three Union Ministers will campaign for party candidate. Brajarajnagar situation is not going to be replicated at Dhamnaga,” Mishra asserted, adding that the BJD always fights elections using money and muscle power and Government machineries to its benefit.
When asked if Rajendra Das’ resentment would benefit the BJP, the LoP said opposition parties always get benefit out of protests against the Government. Here, that may happen. He again stated that the BJP doesn’t take weakness of opponent as its strength.
It may be noted that the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) had yesterday announced name of Abanti Das as its candidate for Dhamnagar MLA seat, which will go to polls on November 3.
BJP candidate Suryavanshi Suraj Sthitaprajna has already filed nomination papers. He is the son of Bishnu Sethi, the sitting MLA Bishnu Sethi whose recent death has necessitated the bypoll.
Yesterday, Congress had also named Baba Harekrushna Sethi as its candidate for the seat.
