The officials of the anti-corruption agency started house searches at Sethy’s house at his native village Puttabagada under Chhatrapur police limits in Ganjam district, two multi-storeyed buildings at Gajapati Nagar in the city, his office chamber at Ambapua here and four-storeyed building in Bhubaneswar this morning.
The house searches are being conducted by Odisha Vigilance led by one Addl. SP, four DsSP and 10 Inspectors and other staff on the strength of Search Warrants issued by Special Judge Vigilance, Berhampur.
As Sethy at Berhampur and his son at Bhubaneswar locked themselves inside their respective houses, obstructed the Vigilance team and showed non co-operation even after being told about the search warrants, the Vigilance team was forced to enter inside the premises after breaking open the entrance doors, official sources said.
The officials have so far seized over Rs 16 lakh in cash, gold jewellery, several bank passbooks, ATM cards and documents related to land etc. belonging to Sethy.
“The total valuation of the disproportion assets of the State Government official is yet to be calculated as raids are still underway,” a Vigilance official said.
