The held persons have been identified as Bhabani Shankar Patnaik of Kandhamal, Ramachandra Das of Cuttack, Rajaranjan Nayak of Nayagarh and Laxman Tandi of Subarnapur.
Based on a tip-off on the ganja consignment which was heading to an unknown location in two vehicles this morning, Kantamal Police launched a raid and put up road blockades at Malikakud and Siletpada chhak.
During vehicle inspection, the cops found 50 kg ganja from a car and another 15 kg laden on a motorcycle.
As the occupants of the car and riders of the bike failed to produce the permit required for ganja transportation they were taken into custody.
