According to information, the two journalists threatened a loan defaulter to return the borrowed money to the lender at the earliest or else he (borrower) would face dire consequences. They had allegedly taken bribe from the lender to collect the money from the borrower on his behalf.
Acting on the complaint of the borrower, the Manchesswar police have arrested the two scribes from their office and are preparing to forward them to the court.
It may be noted here that two editorial staffs of a news web channel had been arrested on the charge of demanding extortion from internationally-acclaimed sprinter Dutee Chand last month.
