Youth Trampled To Death In Boudh Village

Boudh, Nov 23: A youth was reportedly trampled to death by an elephant at Jamaloi village under Padiabahal forest range in Boudh district last night. 

The deceased was identified as Purnachandra Dehuri of Jamaloi village. 

According to the information, Purnachandra had been missing since last night when he and other villagers tried to drive away a herd of wild elephants from the village.  His body was found lying on an agricultural field early this morning. 

On being informed forest range and police officials have gone to the village and recovered the body. After registering an unnatural death case, police have started an investigation. If proved true, the family of Purnachandar will be compensated as per government provisions, said forest officials.
