Youth Killed By Girl's Father Over Love Affair In Rayagada

Rayagada, Sept 11: In a shocking incident, Youth died, girl critical after being attacked by girl's father over love affair near Adajor village under Kashipur police station limits in Rayagada district. 

The deceased has been identified as Mangalsingh Majhi and the accused has been identified as Bijay Majhi. 

According to the reports, the man allegedly attacked Mangal with an axe leading to his death on the spot. Later, he also did not spare his daughter Lalita and attacked her with the axe.

While Mangal died on spot and his daughter Lalita is critically injured. Suspecting that her daughter had died, Bijay escaped from the spot.

Reportedly, Lalita, who had eloped with Mangal last month, returned to her village a week ago and was staying with her family. On Tuesday evening, her father, Bijay Majhi, asked Mangal to come and take Lalita with him. However, in a shocking turn of events, Bijay allegedly attacked the couple with an axe when they were leaving on a bike, resulting in Mangal’s instant death and leaving Lalita severely injured.

On being informed, police reached the spot and rescued Lalita in a critical condition. Initially, she was admitted to Kashipur CHC and later shifted to Rayagada.
