Youth Beaten To Death With Cricket Bat In Subarnapur Village

Sonepur, Jan 20: In a shocking incident, a youth was reportedly beaten to death with a cricket bat by a group of miscreants in Mendha village under Tarabha block in Subarnapur district this afternoon. 

The deceased youth was identified as Santosh Hati. Another person has been injured in the incident. 

According to the information, the accused came to Santosh's house and quarrelled with him over a past issue. As heated arguments escalated, the accused lifted a bat kept nearby and beat Santosh with it. Another person who came to the rescue of Santosh was also not spared by the accused. Hurt in the head, Santosh died on the spot. The rescuer was injured. 

The accused managed to flee from the spot. 

On being informed, the Tarabha police reached the spot and started an investigation. The exact reason behind the incident is yet to be known.
